The economy seems to be the forefront of almost everything we think, do, or say these days. No, this isn't a blog about the economy, I think that there are enough of them. But, yes this is a blog about God's economy. I would like to explore the Word of God and see what God has to say about economy. God wrote plenty about money, economy, stewardship, being rich, being poor, working, borrowing, saving, etc. What I would like to do is explore the Word, write about it, and get your feed back and advice.
There is lots of good stories out there in blog land about how God has supplied all our needs. I would like to give the readers of this blog an opportunity to share their thoughts about God's economy. Let me first give you a little back ground on where I am coming from, what I mean when I say God's economy.
I like to think of it as God's plan verse man's plan. Man's plan is the 20% plan. 20% or more of our annual income goes to pay interest on debt. This makes it hard to follow God's plan, the 10% plan. Give God the first 10% or more (let's not be legalistic) and we get to keep the rest. Because most of us follow man's plan, it makes it almost impossible to follow God's plan. God owns the cattle on a thousand hills, right? All things belong to God according to Ps 24:1, right? If God owns it all why do we want to take it for ourselves and give it to the bank in the form of inerest?
I hope this gets you thinking. Jeff "Jn 8:32"
